About Me
I am currently working as a Technical Sales professional at IBM Japan, IBM Technology, Data Platform Business Division, following the acquisition of DataStax Japan in 2025. I focus on providing technical support for generative AI solutions using watsonx.ai and unstructured data platforms with watsonx.data, enabling clients to implement advanced AI-driven and data-centric solutions tailored to their business needs.
From 2024 to 2025, I served as a Solution Engineer at DataStax Japan, where I focused on proposing generative AI solutions such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) using open-source tools like LangChain, on top of Astra DB, a high-speed and scalable cloud database.
From 2018 to 2024, I served as an AI/ML Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services Japan. As a specialist in AWS’s AI/ML services, I provided technical support for machine learning platforms, recommendation systems, time series forecasting systems, and generative AI systems. The primary services I worked with included Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Personalize, Amazon Forecast, and Amazon Bedrock.
From 2009 to 2018, I was an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University. My research focused on the application of machine learning to time series forecasting, anomaly detection, natural language processing, and computer vision. Since 2015, my research has been particularly centered on deep learning.
現在、日本アイ・ビー・エム、テクノロジー事業本部データプラットフォーム事業部でテクニカルセールスとして働いています。2025年のDataStax Japanの買収に伴い、watsonx.aiを活用した生成AIソリューションおよびwatsonx.dataを用いた非構造化データプラットフォームの技術支援に注力し、クライアントのビジネスニーズに合わせた先進的なAI駆動型およびデータ中心のソリューションの実装を支援しています。
2024年から2025年までは、DataStax Japanでソリューションエンジニアとして勤務していました。高速でスケーラブルなクラウドデータベースであるAstra DBを中心に、LangChainなどのオープンソースツールを使用して、RAG（Retrieval-Augmented Generation）などの生成AIソリューションを提案していました。
2018年から2024年までは、Amazon Web Services JapanでAI/MLソリューションアーキテクトとして勤務していました。AWSのAI/MLサービスのスペシャリストとして、機械学習プラットフォーム、リコメンデーションシステム、時系列データ予測システム、生成AIシステムに関する技術支援を行いました。主に扱ったサービスは、Amazon SageMaker、Amazon Personalize、Amazon Forecast、Amazon Bedrockなどです。
2009年から2018年までは、大阪大学情報科学技術研究科で助教を務めていました。機械学習を使った時系列データ予測、異常検知、自然言語処理、コンピュータビジョンなどの応用研究に取り組んでいました。2015年以降は特に深層学習を中心に研究を行っていました。
